The Certified Medical Coder (CMC)® Online is brought to you by the Practice Management Institute Online Learning Center in conjunction with Greenville Technical College. Class size is limited to 25 participants. Online course fee is $999, which includes faculty advisement and the CMC examination, proctored live in your community.

Course Prerequisites
The Certified Medical Coder preparatory program is designed to measure a high level of generalized coding competency. This online course is recommended for candidates with a minimum of one to two years of experience in a medical office and some medical coding experience. For those with less experience, we recommend the following two online introductory courses prior to enrolling in the CMC Online:

Online Class Expectations
Unlike PMI's Self Study program, the CMC Online class has a time limit of approximately 23 days in which to complete the course. Students must plan to dedicate enough time to read course lecture materials and get assistance from the online instructor during that timeframe.

HCPCS manuals
Medical dictionary

CEUs
A certificate of attendance will be provided for attendance at this program.

29 PMI CEUs
Practice Management Institute grants CEUs for its certified professionals based on total number of instructional hours (1 CEU per hour of classroom instruction). CEUs may be applied to annual recertification requirements, as directed in the certification renewal requirements for your credential(s).
