Letter from the Conference Chair

This fall, PMI will host its 6th annual Las Vegas Conference for Medical Office Professionals. There is an energy brewing around this year's conference that is really getting exciting! We are thrilled that so many of you have chosen to register early this year, and with good reason. This year's presenters are top notch professionals that will help propel you into the next age of healthcare.

PMI featured major players in healthcare reform panel at its 2010 conference in San Antonio. The response was great and we will replicate that experience in Las Vegas with more big name panelists like Dr. Robert M. Wah from the American Medical Association, Board of Trustees. This general session is one you won't want to miss for the latest discussion on healthcare reform.

ICD-10 will be addressed by one of the biggest names in the coding industry, Nancy Maguire. This remarkable woman will speak on a subject that is near and dear to her, bracing for coding changes ahead. She'll make you think differently about coding and your occupation, maybe even your life.

It is time that we embrace the changes in our profession. Take a look into future trends and how our jobs will evolve due to the passage of healthcare reform. Our success is dependent on how well we adapt and poise our skills in anticipation of what lies ahead.

Familiar faces will also take the stage this year in Las Vegas. Our favorite Fraud and Abuse Attorney, Robert Liles, will be on hand for this year's pre-conference compliance session. D.K. Everitt, a highly talented compliance officer and friend to PMI will share his expansive knowledge on healthcare compliance and important regulations. Also back this year is Regina Mixon Bates, an Atlanta-based consultant who works with physicians placed under Corporate Integrity Agreements by the OIG. Her company, The Physicians Practice S.O.S. is an OIG-approved Independent Review Organization.

Exhibitors will share products and resources aimed at helping your practice become more efficient. And, in the spirit of Las Vegas, we will have a treasure hunt contest and drawing, giving you a chance at some fun prizes. We're bringing it back to New York New York Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, thanks to overwhelming feedback from past and prospective attendees.
