October 20 Pre-Conference features leading experts explain the seven areas of practice compliance
This year, you can take part in an additional day of training. PMI has added this unique opportunity to attend a Pre-conference Workshop on October 20. It’s called Defensive Driving for the Medical Practice. This interactive compliance challenge was a big hit at our National Conference in San Antonio this year. Because it was so well received, our presenters have agreed to an encore in Las Vegas! Add this day of training to your conference registration and you will receive detailed instruction on the seven areas of practice compliance.

We work in one of the most highly regulated industries. Each day that passes without a cohesive compliance plan in place means greater potential of staggering fines and penalties if the practice is audited. PMI has gathered together these compliance experts to help you preserve the financial viability of your practice.
During this session, our presenters will guide participants down the bumpy path of compliance by way of an Internal Operations Audit and provide a roadmap based on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service's 7 Step Compliance Program. This intensive learning session is appropriate for all physician coding, billing and office management professionals.
"The best way to avoid compliance problems is to take a proactive stance."
- Robert Liles, J.D.
Our compliance experts will dissect and explain all the pieces that makeup the compliance puzzle. OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA, MICS, OIG and much more. Participants will explore compliance as applicable to their job functions. By the end of the session, participants will have a plan in hand to take back to the practice and modify as needed.
How It Works
Pre-conference is especially for managers and anyone involved in the compliance process for the medical office. The session will run on Wednesday, October 20 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Our group will work together to build the seven components of their compliance plan. By the end of the day, participants will have what they need to implement a comprehensive compliance program for their practice.

The give and take with the presenters and moderator is very enlightening. Information gained from other attendees is almost as helpful as that provide by the presenters.
– Gale Wisby, CPC
This is the best pre-conference yet! And so, so important and needed. I have always taken away some good information but this year nothing compares! This was also the pre-conference that has had the most attendee participation in the discussions which shows how important these issues are to us all.
– Pamela J. Jones, CMOM
Excellent! The program exceeded expectations. I look forward to the next days.
– Pat Slansky, CMOM
