Practice Management Institute and the West Virginia State Medical Association to host webinar training sessions for West Virginia medical offices | "PMI's Total Access quickly brings both experienced and non-experienced staff up to speed," said Douglas O'Dell, President and CEO of Practice Management Institute. "Weekly webinars enable practice staff to dial in and ask specific questions and get direct answers. It continually builds the knowledge base of every member of the practice." The webinars address current coding, billing and practice operational skills. A speakerphone makes it possible for several people from the office to participate simultaneously. Physicians are encouraged to participate and communicate with the presenter. A secondary benefit of Total Access enrollment allows physicians and staff instant access to a full library of pre-recorded training. Live events are archived and made available in a streaming format over the Internet for all Total Access members. The Total Access Audio Library consists of more than 105 hours of pre-recorded training sessions. Currently about 70 topics are available. Each session is approximately 90 minutes in length. Titles include: "Observation: To Bill or Not to Bill," "What They Didn't Teach You in Coding Class," "Understanding Modifiers," "Coding/Medicare Update," "EMR Reimbursement and Financing," and many more. A full list of topics can be found on the WVSMA web site. Some upcoming Webinar topics include: "Making the Most of Modifiers" November 22, "The Five Levers of Profitability in the Medical Practice" November 30, "Anatomy and Physiology for Coders," December 1, "Coding/Medicare Update 2012, December 13, and "Understanding the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Database," December 20.
