Webinar/Audio Conference FAQs
With all of the many challenges faced in Medical Office Management, especially with declining reimbursements, at times it might seem that HIPAA Compliance is low priority in your medical practice. However, the reality is that it could be the "silent killer".
The questions to ask are:
- Should HIPAA Compliance be a top priority?
- Why should HIPAA Compliance be a top priority?
- Who would even know if the practice is not HIPAA compliant?
The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is responsible for privacy and security enforcement under HIPAA and Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act provisions.
The OCR has announced that it is initiating Compliance Audits. This action precedes the release of the Final HIPAA/HITECH Act Privacy, Security, Breach Notification, and Enforcement Rules and will strengthen enforcement and accountability for compliance.
- Who will be audited?
- When will the audits begin?
- What happens after the audit?
- How and when is HIPAA compliance going to be enforced by not only Federal authorities, but also state authorities?
This webinar is a "must attend" session for healthcare staff to get the answers you need to prepare for the future and for the strong financial bites of HIPAA.
