The importance of building emergency preparedness into the culture of your organization cannot be overemphasized. As recent hurricanes and tropical storms have demonstrated, it is essential to have a plan in place to navigate your team through the next unanticipated disaster.

This session will provide a roadmap for disaster planning in the event of a catastrophic event that disables the medical and business functions of your medical practice. Audrey will address various types of emergencies.

Physicians, administrators, supervisors, compliance officers and staff will learn how to prepare for a temporary or permanent loss and how to implement a Disaster Recovery program. Identify strategies for maintaining quality patient care throughout the event and for restoring business operations when it is possible to do so.

About the Presenter

Audrey is a hands-on health care industry specialist with more than 15 years of experience overseeing the development and implementation of policy and procedures relating to practice management, risk management and compliance based on federal, state, NCQA, HIPAA and OSHA standards.

She has conducted in-services and developed training programs and assessments on practice management and compliance. She has served on Quality Assurance, Medical Management, Risk Management, Network Development, Utilization Review, Health Disparities Collaborative and Compliance Boards. Audrey has extensive knowledge and experience in medical billing and coding, utilization review and practice management, but her passion and area of focus has been compliance and risk management.
