How to Be the Best Receptionist Webinar Conference

Schedule: Two 90 minute live webinar sessions on 4/27, 5/4, from 12 PM-1:30 PM Central Time (10 AM Pacific, 1 PM Eastern)
Fee: $199 per person
Target Audience:This class is appropriate for anyone responsible for patient communication, data collection and scheduling.
Prerequisites:There are no prerequisites for this course. Beginners and seasoned staff will return to the office with practical tips and new ideas for improving performance.
Materials: Two live, 90-minute webinar sessions will be held on two consecutive Thursdays: April 27 and May 4, 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Central Time. Participants receive a digital course manual. To ensure access to webinar log in details, set meetings@meetings.readytalk.com as a Safe Sender in your email server.
CEUs: 3 CEU certificate will be emailed upon completion of course.

This Webinar Course is not included as part of the Total Access subscription package.

Recorded sessions are available as a Self-paced Webinar Course in the Online Training Center approximately four days after the last recording date.

Program Description

A receptionist creates the FIRST impression in your medical practice. In the first few minutes of interaction with a patient, the receptionist sets the tone for the patient’s experience with the practice. The demeanor and degree of professionalism of the employee filling this key role can make or break your reputation with patients and their families or caregivers, can can impact how your providers are rated on peer-to-peer measurement websites such as Physician Compare and HealthGrades.

This program covers the expanding responsibilities of today’s medical office receptionist including front desk operations, accurate data collection, privacy and security of medical records and patient information, effective communication and realistic appointment scheduling. The presentation will sharpen skills, improve productivity and enhance patient relations in your practice.

    Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

    PMI CEU APPROVED Earn 3 PMI CEUs for attendance at this program. Practice Management Institute grants CEUs for its certified professionals based on total number of instructional hours (1 CEU per hour of classroom instruction). CEUs may be applied to annual recertification requirements, as directed in the certification renewal requirements for your credential(s).

    If you are seeking CEU credits for other certifications or organizations, please contact your organization for pre-approval and credit guidelines. A certificate of attendance will be provided.


  • About the Presenter

    Misty has more than 12 years of healthcare experience. Her nursing background combined with her management experience, industry knowledge and natural teaching ability are the perfect fit for the classroom.

    She has worked as a Practice Manager for two health centers in North Carolina where her responsibilities included management of clinical and support staff, as well as day to day operations of a FQHC. Misty was responsible for maintaining HIPAA and OSHA compliance and wrote an emergency action plan. She also handled the practice budget and productivity, and had a hand in the scheduling of residents and faculty. With both clinical and practice management knowledge, she has been able to understand and participate in quality assurance programs and nursing care plans.

    Misty graduated Magna Cum Laude from ECPI College of Technology Medical Careers Institute in Greenville, SC.
