Webinar/Audio Conference FAQs

Effective patient collections tactics has always been an essential piece of every practice's financial success story. But today, it is ever more important due to trending high deductible health plans and the subsequent skyrocketing out-of-pocket cost for patients. A Kaiser Family Foundation Health Benefits Survey shows that 83 percent of covered workers faced a deductible for single coverage in 2016 - up 12 percent from 2015, and 49 percent from 2011.

Join Pam Joslin to review the best practices of patient collections and discover the latest news and techniques.

  • Does your practice have a financial policy that every patient signs? Does it specify guidelines regarding payments including fees for no-shows, copays, deductibles and the forms of payment you will accept?
  • Do you know in advance what your patients will owe? Do you inform them in advance how much they will need to pay or when they should expect a balance bill for services provided out of network?
  • When scheduling patients with existing balances or whose services will fall to their deductible, do you communicate with them before the service about how much they will need to pay?

This session includes discussion of the benefits and risks of providing multiple payment options including credit card on file and collecting a set amount in advance when the patient responsibility is unclear at the outset.

Start employing the strategies for successful collections that will endure regardless of changes in the healthcare climate.
