Webinar/Audio Conference FAQs

Technology is forever evolving, making it essential that the HIPAA training we provide our staff keep pace with it. Gather your team in the conference room on June 25th to learn the details on five HIPAA hot topics currently impacting physician practices. Don't miss this opportunity for HIPAA privacy and security expert, Larry Neiswender, to train your team. The price of ignorance is just too high!

Human mistakes persist as a leading cause of HIPAA breaches. Last year's breaches cost healthcare organizations millions of dollars in OCR fines…..and that does not include the costs of the notifications, legal fees, and required security enhancements. Phishing or ransomware attacks occur at practices of any size but they’re not the only causes of a breach and it only takes one mistake for a practice to be compromised and put in financial jeopardy.

Don't allow the lack of monitoring and auditing efforts cause your practice unnecessary problems. Larry will walk participants through the process of conducting an in-house security assessment and will highlight five issues involving technology that can leave a practice vulnerable to a breach:

  1. Technical training isn’t always technical
  2. Guidance on e-mail and text messaging
  3. Appropriate Access for pertinent staff
  4. Mobile device controls
  5. Social media challenges

It is critical to educate your team to protect the security and privacy of your practice's confidential patient records. These five issues are highly relevant training topics for medical practices that utilize technology in their operations. PMI invites you to join us for this pertinent HIPAA discussion.
