Compliance Best Practices for Managing Cyber-related Risk

Date:Thursday, November 1, 2018
Time:12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Central Time
Course fee:SPECIAL $99 1 HR WEBINAR
Presented by: Larry Neiswender

Webinar/Audio Conference FAQs

Security and compliance are commonplace but how proficient is your office when it comes to cyber-compliance? The evolution of digitized healthcare data makes cyber security more important than ever, and it needs our attention.

Carriers often request Billing and Coding Compliance Guidelines along with Information Security Policies and Procedures because they have discovered too many healthcare offices don’t have a plan. We are required to document compliance efforts to secure our patient data and meet the Standards found in the HIPAA regulations. Cyber Risk Management is the next logical step for healthcare organizations that increasingly rely on digital processes to run their business.

As with other areas of practice management, a risk assessment or gap analysis will help you identify and evaluate cyber risks in your organization. Larry Neiswender will share insights to avoid the problems they have been forced to manage; learn to prioritize risks and responses; and find how to adopt compliance best practices and identify remedies to potential crisis.

Points covered in this session:

  • Learn how to establish a cyber-secure culture
  • Improve awareness of the impact of cyber risks to your practice
  • Keep pace with new and emerging threats as technology advances
  • Plan for disruption and a response to stay operational

This webinar goes beyond the technologies, processes, and practices that protect networks, devices and programs from attack or unauthorized access. Participants will hear about errors that other organizations have made and learn how to recognize subtle signs that can compromise cyber-security such as illicit emails and requests for information that seem legitimate. Cyber events will happen – this webinar will prepare you to deal with them.
