Attend this webinar session to learn the latest compliance updates and changes to payment policies, rates, and quality-related provisions for physician services furnished under the Medicare Part B Physician Fee Schedule in 2019. Gain the facts on the most current documentation requirements for E&M visits. CMS has proposed significant changes to E/M coding and documentation standards. Learn which, if any, are adopted in the final rule to determine what course of action your practice should take in response.

This program will provide you with important physician reporting and reimbursement information relevant to Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA), Merit-based Incentive Payment Systems (MIPS), and Alternative Payment Models (APMs). In 2019, eligible clinicians will be paid for Medicare Part B services under the Quality Payment Program (QPP) based on 2017 reporting activities. Changes to MIPs include general performance category weights and increases to cost performance weight and performance thresholds.

Other changes will leverage technology and advance virtual care to reduce costs and administrative burdens. Learn more good news about lower drug costs and EHR interoperability. Telehealth changes for 2019 indicate a new interpretation by CMS of statutory requirements regarding reimbursement for these services.

About the Presenter

Lisa has been involved in the medical billing, management and consulting field since 1982. In 2006, she founded Gold Star Medical Business Services, an award winning company that provides remote billing services for physicians in small to medium sized individual and group practices. Prior to starting Gold Star Medical, she worked for one of the largest Practice Management consulting firms in the country.

For 10 years, she has consulted with hundreds of doctors as a practice management coach, and spoken at over 100 seminars throughout the United States, both as a teacher and motivational speaker. Lisa also provides comprehensive practice management consulting, credentialing and compliance auditing services.

Lisa holds three PMI certifications and is a board certified MCS-P (Medical Compliance Specialist -Physician). She is PMI’s Director of Business Development for the West Central Texas region. She is also an adjunct instructor with the Angelo State University Small Business Development Center, and teaches a variety of business classes to new and prospective business owners.
