Webinar/Audio Conference FAQs

This time-sensitive webinar will help EPs avoid a 3% penalty in 2018 for failure to report on 2016 Meaningful use measures related to EHR.

If you qualified for Medicare’s Electronic Health Records incentive program (Meaningful Use) but have not yet completed your 2016 reporting requirements, there is a short time left to avoid the penalty.

CMS recently-announced a two-week extension to March 13 in order to give providers a little more time to complete the requirements. CMS reported 171,000 are expected to be penalized for not meeting the requirements of 2015. The Stage 2 final rule expanded upon the Stage 1 criteria with a focus on ensuring that the meaningful use of EHRs supported the aims and priorities of the National Quality Strategy. Stage 2 criteria encouraged the use of health IT for continuous quality improvement at the point of care and the exchange of information in the most structured format possible.

Although Meaningful Use has been phased out, it does not exempt providers from reporting on the measures for 2016. PMI Faculty Lead, Pam Joslin, will walk you through the reporting requirements to avert the 3% penalty.

Join Pam’s one hour reporting prep session and learn how to overcome these obstacles in your practice with “tried and true” processes. This will also help your clinicians avoid the penalties by meeting the measurements, increase practice productivity while still maintaining patient satisfaction.

For physicians who participate in the Medicare meaningful use attestation will end this year. In 2017, eligible clinicians who do not participate in the advanced alternative payment models of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act will transition to the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). MIPS is a pay-for-performance program that will pay doctors based on quality, cost, practice improvement, and the successor to meaningful use, known as Advancing Care Information.
