Phase One of the training: Certified Medical Office Manager (CMOM)®
Candidates will learn advanced administrative concepts and processes to become a more knowledgeable and confident leader. Improve communication with providers, staff, third-party payers, patients, and business associates. This course includes detailed information on all areas involved in medical practice administration: practice financial management, employment laws, revenue cycle management, staffing and administration, plus newly updated information on risk sharing, the patient experience, updated payment models and quality reporting. Receive expert guidance on issues such as emergency preparedness, workplace violence, sexual harassment, discrimination, cyberthreats, and the opioid crisis, and more. Phase Two of the training: The Business of Oncology
Managing an oncology practice is extremely complex and requires extensive knowledge in the areas of finance, leadership, regulations, purchasing, physician recruitment and revenue cycle management. The constant changes in healthcare can make it challenging to provide a quality patient-centered focused practice. In this world of value-based reimbursement, new and emerging therapies, precision medicine, and even Artificial Intelligence, it is imperative to move to a more standardized, yet comprehensive approach for managing an oncology practice to ensure every patient receives the best quality of care while practice leaders stay current with advances in technology and treatment. Phase two of the program covers topics that are pertinent for successful management of oncology practices.

Prerequisites: Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
Format: PMI’s CMOM HEM/ONC program is available to remote learners through PMI’s virtual classroom series of live online interactive scheduled sessions. Registration is limited to 20 participants to allow for optimal interaction. Get your questions answered by the instructor in real time and build a network with your peers. Attendance of all sessions is not required; registered participants will gain access to the recorded class within 48 hours of each scheduled session.

Additional Information: This course includes a series of nine 3-hour live instructor-led online classes plus unlimited streaming of recorded sessions and digital course materials accessible for 6 months following the course conclusion in addition to ongoing faculty support and optional participation in bonus live instructor-led study group sessions for CMOM students. Physical course materials will be provided upon request and free shipping is provided within the continental U.S. PMI certification examination fees will be waived when candidate completes the two online exams (CMOM and Business of Oncology) within 12 months of the CMOM HEM/ONC course start date.

Exam Info: PMI certification examinations are proctored online tests. You must have a computer with a webcam, microphone, a stable Internet connection, and the latest version of google chrome's web browser preinstalled. Exams can be taken in your home or office, provided your remote proctor can verify you are the only person in the room.
Following Phase One of this program, a score of 70% or better is required to achieve the CMOM credential and be eligible to advance to Phase Two and candidacy for the Hematology/Oncology specialty certification. If a passing grade is not achieved on the first attempt, re-testing is available for an additional fee.
