Bonus Training: Our Step-by-Step Coding Guide includes 35 brief videos that walk students through an example from each Chapter of ICD-10 and every body system in CPT to demonstrate the step-by-step process of identifying the correct code. The guide also provides a review of the most challenging CMC course concepts for students.

Prerequisites: Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience in outpatient medical coding and are expected to complete the Medical Terminology course, included at no additional charge with CMC enrollment. Take the free Medical Coding Assessment to test your knowledge now.

*If you lack experience and want to build foundational coding knowledge, we recommend the Medical Coding Bundle - includes 6 foundation courses plus the CMC Certification course - a fantastic training value!

Format: Participate remotely with access to a series of live instructor-led webinar sessions (current schedule posted on this page). Live attendance is encouraged but not required. Participants are encouraged to turn on their webcams and fully engage with the instructor and their peers in this highly interactive program. Enrolled students can access recorded lectures and instructor support for 6 months following the course conclusion.

Registration includes ongoing faculty support and optional participation in bonus live instructor-led group study sessions.

Exam Info: This course includes a timed, six-hour proctored certification exam scheduled by PMI's Exam Coordinator in a testing center near the candidate's location.
